5 Drugstore lipsticks that you have to try !

Lipstick! has, is, and always will be my most adored makeup product. And i am sure that since you have clicked on this, we are all in the same boat. 

Lipstick is one product that can instantly add life to your face, a bare face with a pop of color on the lips and you are good to go. 

Although there are many drugstore brand in the market that make amazing lipsticks, today i will be telling  you about a few of my favorite lipsticks from the drugstore. The ones that i will be telling you about will not be based on color but on the formulation, longevity and other aspects. Mind you that all of these are lipsticks with MATTE finish. I have included all types of lipsticks be it in a bullet form, liquid lipstick, lip crayon and others. 

1. Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lip color 

Packaging : First of all talking about the packaging, these lipsticks come in a bullet form and have a beautiful signature lakme 9 to 5 rose gold packaging. It is sturdy and is not cheap quality. It is a feel good lipstick that is also easy to travel with. 

Formulation and Pigmentation : These lipstick have a beautiful formula that does not feel heavy on the lips. Since it also has an inbuilt primer it does not emphasize any texture or dry skin/patches on the lips rather makes the lips appear smoother. It is not your desert dry matte formula, but is a comfortable matte that is not drying on the lips at all. It has got a very mild, pleasant fragrance that will not bother you and eventually fade away. They glide on smoothly, there is absolutely no need to tug and pull on the lips to apply it. Coming to the pigmentation, to a total surprise these lipsticks are madly pigmented, just one swipe and you are good to go. Keep in mind that these are not transfer proof so they will transfer if you eat or drink.

Longevity : The brand claims for the formula to last on your lips for up to 12 hours but since they are not your conventional long wear matte lipsticks. They don't have a crazy wear time but you can get a good 5-6 hours of pigment on your lips. Even after fading off they leave a stain on your lips. And you can always reapply when you feel the need.

Price and Color Range : These lipsticks are priced at Rs.500 each and you get a total of 3.6gm of product. It has great shade range with almost 40 shades. They range from reds, pinks, nudes, oranges, to browns. There is a shade for everyone. 

2. Nykaa Ultra Matte Lipstick 

Packaging : These lipsticks come in a beautiful square packaging and also have a magnetic lid, which makes its really secure and you do not have to worry about damaging the bullet. The caps of the lipstick is color coded, which makes differentiating shades very easy. The packaging is simple yet elegant. 

Formulation and Pigmentation : This lipstick has a true matte formula that looks stunning when applied. It glides on smoothly, but it will emphasize texture because it is completely matte (so please properly exfoliate and moisturize your lips before hand but do not wear lip balm underneath this lipstick). These lipsticks are so highly pigmented that they will glide on with one swipe. These have to be one of my favorite matte formula out there. Even though they are a true matte lipstick, they do not dry your lips out like liquid lipsticks. These lipsticks are not transfer proof, but whatever does transfer is very minute and is nothing to be worried about. 

Longevity : These have a pretty good staying power, you can get a good wear time of 6-7 hours, even after eating through they do no completely fade away. There is no feathering around the lips, and it also leaves a stain on your lips. You can always touch up if you feel the need to. 

Price and Color Range : This range has a total of 18 shades, they range from pinks, reds and nude. They are priced at Rs.599 for 5gm of product. 

3. L'Oreal Paris Rouge Signature Matte Liquid Lipstick 

Packaging : These lipsticks come in beautiful tube that is frosted on the outside but still shows the color distinctly. It has a doe foot applicator that is tilted and makes the application extremely easy. 

Formulation and Pigmentation : If you are not a fan of liquid lipsticks but like a good matte lip moment that feel comfortable on the lips, these are the one to look for. These are not you conventional matte lipsticks that dry you lips. They have a very watery and light weight formula that settles in to a matte finish. They are also very nicely pigmented, the dark colors being a lot more pigmented. They are also very easily build-able, but you cannot feel the layers. Also there is very little transfer after they settle.

Longevity : Even though they are very light weight you can get a good wear time of 5-6 hours, they do tend to fade away when you eat and drink.

Price and Color Range : They have a total of 20 shades which look intimidating but are very wearable. Priced at Rs.650 for 7ml of product.

4. Faces Canada Ultime Pro HD Intense Matte Lips + Primer 

Packaging : These lipsticks come in a very sleek stick that is retractable so there is no need to sharpen it. The entire stick is black with gold embellishments and the cap is color coded and so is the bottom. 

Formulation and Pigmentation : The formula of this lipstick has a primer inside it which really helps in keeping the lips from drying out. The actual formula is completely matte yet extremely comfortable on the lips. They are also very pigmented and they glide on like a dream on the lips. They do transfer but it is nothing very major. 

Longevity : You can easily get a good wear time of 6-7 hours and as always reapply whenever needed. 

Price and Color Range : There are a total of 17 shades in collection and there are shades from all color families. They retail for Rs.799 for 1.4gm of product. This might seem a little expensive but it is  worth every penny. 

5. Nykaa Matte-ilicious Lip Crayon Lipstick 

Packaging : Like mentioned in the name this lipstick is in a crayon form. It comes in an all black crayon with color coded bottom. It also comes with a sharpener which is extremely handy. These are extremely travel friendly and top quality.

Formulation and Pigmentation : These lip crayon are like a liquid lipstick but in a crayon form. This is top notch formula that cannot be beaten, it is super smooth and glides on the lips like butter. It is the purest matte formula that looks absolutely stunning on the lips. And the best part is that is not at all drying on the lips. They are insanely pigmented and one swipe is all you need. Every single shade is equally stunning and pigmented. The best formula in drugstore that i have come across till now. It does not emphasize any dry patches. It also is not transfer proof but they transfer very little.

Longevity : These lipsticks will stay on your lips for a very long time, you can easily wear it for 5-6 hours and reapplying does not make it look ugly. 

Price and Color Range : These retail for Rs.699 for 2.8gm of product, but you can have my word for it you will not regret at all, every penny will be worth it. This range has a total of 17 shades. 

And there you have it, 5 lipsticks that should be on your must have list from the drugstore. All of them have been tried and tested and only then am i telling you about them. All of the formulas are bomb and something that is worth investing in.
